PRO Allegany is pleased to announce that they are hosting a Panel Discussion on the NYS Constitutional Convention (Con Con), an item that will appear on the ballot in this November’s election.

The program will take place on Sunday, June 11th at 1:30 p.m. at 22 W. Main St., Angelica, NY. Reservations are required for this free event.

Our outstanding and distinguished speakers are:

Bill Batrowny: Bill is a lifelong resident of the Southern Tier, growing up in the city of Elmira. The day he turned 16, Bill began working for S.M Flickinger and joined the Teamsters Union. After distinguished service in the US Military Police, Bill began a 28-year career with the City of Elmira Police Department. He served on the Negotiations Committee for the Police Benevolent Association representing local union members in contract negotiations and arbitration. A sought-after speaker on veteran’s and union issues, he was a candidate for NYS Assembly in 2016.

Dora Leland: A middle school history teacher in Horseheads, NY for 27 years, Dora serves as VP of the New York State United Teachers (NYSUT) local union and as a representative delegate to the NYSUT Legislative Assembly and the NYS Teacher’s Retirement System. She is Vice President of the Chemung/Schuyler Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO and the Political Action Coordinator for NYSUT Senate District 58. Dora is one of the contributing organizers for Indivisible 23rd and for Citizens for a Better Southern Tier.

Karen Patterson: Karen’s 27-yr career with NYSDOT has led to her current role as Assistant Resident Engineer for Steuben County. She’s been a Public Employees Federation (PEF) union member the entire time, becoming highly active in the past few years. She serves on multiple Labor/Management teams, is Vice Chair of the Statewide Team, and represents Region 6 on the Statewide NYSDOT/PEF Labor Management Committee. She has lobbied members of Congress and the US Senate, as well as NYS legislators, winning important issues on behalf of career employees. Karen is a member of PRO Allegany.
